Stargazing in Las Tricias
Astronorte has a private astronomical observatory in Las Tricias (Garafía), in the north of La Palma, an exceptional location known for the quality and darkness of its skies. At the end of the activity, a long-exposure night photograph is taken as a souvenir of the experience and sent to you afterwards by email.
The activity takes place in small groups, ensuring a personal and comfortable experience, with access to a screening room, toilets, a terrace and seating. An optional visit to the three-metre observatory dome is also available.

- Observations do not take place during a full or waxing moon, as the brightness of the sky prevents participants from fully enjoying the experience.
- The activity is subject to weather conditions. If it is cancelled, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund.
- The decision to cancel or postpone the activity is made at the meeting point, with safety and the quality of the experience taking priority.
- No refunds are available once the activity has begun.
Recommendations and Rules
- Please arrive on time. A maximum grace period of five minutes is allowed.
- Transport is not included.
- Eating and drinking alcohol are not permitted during the activity.
- Warm clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended, even in summer.
- Accident insurance is included for the duration of the activity.

- All observations take place exclusively in Las Tricias, never at Roque de los Muchachos.

Is Transport Included?
No. Participants must make their own way to the meeting point by car or taxi.
What Happens in Bad Weather?
The activity may be postponed or cancelled. If it cannot take place due to bad weather, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund.
Can I Book a Tour During a Full Moon?
Observations do not take place on nights with a full or waxing moon because of the brightness of the sky.
Do I Need Any Previous Knowledge of Astronomy?
No. The experience is designed for all levels, from beginners to astronomy enthusiasts.
Is the Activity Suitable for Children?
Yes, it is generally suitable for all ages, although children should preferably be accompanied by an adult. Please check the minimum age when booking.
What Language Is the Tour Conducted In?
Spanish is the standard language. If you prefer guidance in english please send us a message and ask for one. We will try to make it possible.
Is There a Limit on the Number of Participants?
Yes. Groups are limited to 15 people to ensure a comfortable, personalised experience.
What Equipment Is Used?
High-performance telescopes, such as 10-inch Dobsonian telescopes, and other astronomical observation equipment are used to view celestial objects.
